On December 2, the Potocki Palace hosted the presentation of the project “Strategic Foresight Partnership to Strengthen Regional Capacity for Territorial Policy Enhancement (SFP), implemented under the Interreg Europe 2021–2027 Programme.
What is this project about, and why is it important for the region?
SFP is an international initiative involving several European regions, designed to:
– analyze what changes territories may face in the medium and long term;
– identify not only risks but also new opportunities for communities, the economy, education, and business;
– support regional decision-making that is not merely reactive, but grounded in various possible development scenarios.
For Ivano-Frankivsk region, participation in SFP is an opportunity to strengthen the culture of strategic foresight, learn modern approaches from European partners, and better prepare for the challenges communities face amid war and rapid change.
The event brought together representatives of the Regional State Administration, higher education institutions, clusters, development organizations, the business community, and NGOs — partners who shape the intellectual, economic, and social potential of the region.
What topics were discussed during the presentation?
– the role of Ivano-Frankivsk region in the project and expected outcomes for the territory;
– how foresight tools can be integrated into regional policies and programs;
– how the project’s results will contribute to the development of the new Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Development Strategy;
– the importance of engaging universities, clusters, businesses, and development institutions in shaping the region’s future.
Together with the project partners, we continue our work — upcoming meetings, exchanges with partner regions, and stakeholder engagement in discussions around possible development scenarios for the region.
Thank you to all participants for the active dialogue, questions, and proposals — it is through collaboration that we can build a realistic yet ambitious vision for the future of Ivano-Frankivsk region.
The SFP project is implemented under the Interregional Cooperation Programme Interreg Europe, financed by the European Union. The Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Development Agency bears sole responsibility for the content of this publication.
