Participation in the European Week of regions and cities (#EURegionsWeek2024)

We had the wonderful opportunity to attend the European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels!

This event brought together representatives of border regions from Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine, as well as participants in Interreg Europe’s InnoCom project, to discuss significant challenges related to resilience and recovery.

Key discussion topics included:

  • Post-war recovery efforts;
  • Population displacement;
  • Other challenges faced by local governments.

The event provided a platform for comprehensive discussions on resilience strategies and cross-border collaboration between EU member states and candidate countries.

We collaborated with leading experts whose professionalism enriched our panel discussion, including:

  • Csilla Hegedus, Director General of the ADR Nord-Vest Regional Development Agency;
  • Otilia Moruz, Executive Director for Development at the Botosani County Council;
  • Kieran Comerford, Interreg Europe – InnoCom Project;
  • Chiara Dall’Aglio, EU Project Manager at Sviluppumbria, Italy, Interreg Europe – InnoCom;
  • Cezar Grozavu, Executive Director at the Romania-Ukraine BRCT Suceava.

Why was this important?

  • Participants gained insights from leading experts in resilience and regional development.
  • Discussions addressed innovative solutions to challenges facing regions during crises.
  • Attendees expanded their professional networks and strengthened international cooperation.

We are grateful to all participants for their active engagement and support. Together, we are strengthening regional resilience and promoting European values across borders.
