First partner meeting in Uzhhorod as part of the “BusinessBridge” cross-border cooperation project

Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia are joining the cross-border BusinessBridge project aimed at developing economic cooperation between the regions of Ukraine, Hungary and Romania.

The initiative, which is supported by the European Union within the framework of Interreg VI-A NEXT Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine, is set to be implemented over a period of one and a half years by the Regional Development Agencies of the Zakarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions of Ukraine, the Maramures SME Development Centre (Romania), and the European Territorial Cooperation Association TISZA (Hungary).

The overarching aim of this initiative is to strengthen existing economic ties and to explore the potential for new ones, with a view to promoting investment and creating favourable conditions for the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the four border regions.

The project will analyse the economic situation and identify key areas for the development of the partner regions, and create a digital platform for the exchange of up-to-date data. Once the research has been completed, it is hoped that a cross-border investment forum and an investment tour will be held. During the investment tour, entrepreneurs from Romania and Hungary will be invited to visit key investment sites in our regions. In addition, we plan to hold training events for organisations involved in project activities.
